Father Cornelius was born in Lagos, Nigeria to the family of Sir Cornelius and Lady Happiness Ejiogu. He began his training as a Josephite seminarian in 2002. After 10 years of formation, Father Cornelius was ordained in June 2013 alongside six other conferrers. Read more about our pastor here.

Deacon Richard was born in Washington, D.C. to the late Richard L. Walker, Sr and Lillian T. Walker. He was ordained to the permanent diaconate with the Class of 2008. His first assignment was to St. Thomas More parish in Southeast Washington where he served for eight years. In October 2016; he was appointed deacon to St. Luke parish with his designated Ministry of Charity, the St. Luke Food Bank. He assists the pastor with day to day parish administration, parish organizations programs and projects.
Sister Anne Marie Schreiner is a member of the Daughters of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul. Sister Anne Marie facilitates the Monday morning Prayer Group/Bible Study. Sister is available for Spiritual Direction, Prayer Ministry, and retreats.

Ms. Peters is the parish secretary. She retired in 2003 from a private publishing company after 33 years of employment. She has served on the St. Luke staff since 2006 as secretary for Father Charles Moffatt, Father Joseph Begay, Father Joseph Del Vecchio and currently Father Cornelius Ejiogu. She said, “I really enjoy my job because of the beautiful priests that I have had the honor of serving. Not to mention all of the wonderful parishioners that I have had the opportunity to work for.”

Mrs. William retired from the DC Department of Corrections in 1999 after 19 years as a prison psychologist, acting deputy warden, and chief of the reception diagnostic center. Prior to that, she spent 18 years with the Department of Human Services where she worked with abused and neglected children in the foster care system. After retiring from government services, she spent an additional 11 years as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker in private agencies, continuing to work with neglected and abused children.
Mrs. William has been at St. Luke’s Church since 1958, starting out in the CYO, and being a member of the choir and then gradually becoming a member of the CCD teaching staff. She was appointed DRE by Father Stephen Brett upon completion of the EPS Program.
She said, “I was Baptized and Confirmed here at St. Luke’s in 1958. I guess one might say children have been my life’s work.”
