Shirley William
Director of Religious Education

Mrs. William retired from the DC Department of Corrections in 1999 after 19 years as a prison psychologist, acting deputy warden, and chief of the reception diagnostic center. Prior to that, she spent 18 years with the Department of Human Services where she worked with abused and neglected children in the foster care system. After retiring from government services, she spent an additional 11 years as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker in private agencies, continuing to work with neglected and abused children.

She said, “I was Baptized and Confirmed here at St. Luke’s in 1958. I guess one might say children have been my life’s work.”
